Man fined for damaging motorist's windscreen

A self-employed man who cracked the windscreen of a car with his clenched fist was fined $4,000 on Thursday.

Ong Thiam Kwee, 55, admitted to committing mischief by hitting the windscreen of dentist Ho King Peng's car with his fist along Tanjong Katong Road on May 13 2010.

A district court heard that Dr Ho was driving his Toyota behind Ong's car on his way to the clinic when he sounded his horn at Ong, for suddenly stopping in front of a pedestrian crossing to let his daughter alight at about 6.55am that day.

Ong, who was with his wife, alighted and walked towards Dr Ho's car, gesticulating vigorously with his hands.
