Man fined for breaching Personal Protection Order
Posted: 03 February 2012 1325 hrs
SINGAPORE: A man has been fined S$2,000 for breaching a Personal Protection Order imposed by the court.
Forty-year-old Paul Chee Wei Teck had pulled out the knob of the master bedroom door and flung it at his wife, Ms Sharon Lim, on January 10, 2012 at about 9.30 pm.
She sustained a two centimetre cut on the nose.
The Personal Protection Order was issued on September 24, 2004.
Under the law, Chee could have faced up to a maximum fine of S$2,000 or a jail term of up to six months, or both.
But the district judge noted that Chee was a first time offender.
The district judge urged Chee to resolve issues with Ms Lim amicably and not resort to violence.
Chee also showed remorse in his plea for leniency.
