Man molested and filmed private parts of wife's sister while she was drunk

SINGAPORE — During a night of drinking, a man decided to film his wife’s sister while she was in a toilet, and fondled her as she lay inebriated.
The 33-year-old man, who cannot be named to protect the victim’s identity, was also long-time friends with the victim’s husband.
He was jailed for one-and-a-half years and given three strokes of the cane after he pleaded guilty to one count of molest and one count of voyeurism on Friday (28 January), with two similar counts considered for his sentencing.
The man and his wife, along with the victim and her husband, would meet monthly for drinks from mid-2020.
On the night of 2 January last year, the 31-year-old victim, her husband and her husband’s brother went to the man’s residence for drinks. The group drank three bottles of beer, six to seven bottles of soju, three bottles of sake, and whiskey.
During this period, the man set up his mobile phone in the toilet to film the victim. He captured two videos of the victim relieving herself in the wee hours of 3 January 2021. The man retrieved his phone after the victim left the toilet.
While the party were in the living room, the man positioned his mobile phone with the camera lens angled to capture the opening of the victim’s shorts. He decided to do so for the thrill of it.
The victim wanted to head home after 4am on 3 January 2021 to tend to her children.
As the victim and her husband were drunk, the man’s wife called a valet to send them home. The man volunteered to accompany them back to their house. It was the first time he had done so as he would normally only accompany them to their car.
Throughout the ride, the victim tried to vomit out of the window. Upon arriving at the house, the victim's husband fell asleep on the living room sofa. His wife went to a toilet to vomit.
The man took his chance to position his mobile phone in another toilet in the master bedroom to film the victim before he fell asleep in the balcony of the residence. The victim’s three children were asleep in the master bedroom.
Later, the man woke up to hear the victim vomiting in the master bedroom toilet. He went in and noticed the victim clad only in her bra and panties. The man then retrieved his phone, intending to take more illicit videos of his sister-in-law.
He lifted the blanket the woman was under and captured her bare private parts using the flash mode in his mobile phone. He then molested her before leaving the room to wake the victim’s husband.
A while later, the victim called her husband into the bedroom to speak to him, as she noticed flashes of light underneath her blanket while she was drifting in and out of sleep.
The victim's husband then confronted the man, who unlocked his phone for him to check. The victim’s husband saw the videos and demanded that the man to leave.
That same day, the man’s wife asked him to surrender himself and he did. The victim also reported the matter to the police on the same day.
Investigations unearthed a total of 14 videos taken while the woman was sleeping under a blanket.
