Man faces 6 molest charges <!--10 min-->

AN UNEMPLOYED man who faced a single molestation charge last week was accused on Friday of eight more counts of outrage of modesty. The youngest victim was a one-year-old girl whom Salim Abdul Rahman, 49, is accused of kissing twice at a common corridor of a HDB block on Dec 24 last year and March 17. He is alleged to have molested five other girls, aged between seven and nine, at staircase landings, a bus stop and a void deck at different locations between June 25 and Sept 25. Bail of $20,000 was offered. His passport was impounded. If found guilty, he can be jailed for up to five years or fined or caned or received any combined punishment on each charge. A pre-trial conference has been set on Nov 2.
