Man charged with threatening woman & assaulting police officer

SINGAPORE: A 40-year-old man has been charged with threatening a woman and hurting a police officer.
Koh Choon Lian is accused of threatening to throw Ms Juliana off the corridor of an 11th-floor flat unit in Yishun Avenue 6.
He also allegedly punched a police officer, Staff Sergeant Ricky Lau Jixiang, at the void deck of a separate block in Yishun Avenue 6.
The alleged attacks took place on October 22 this year.
Koh is also charged with damaging an electrical fan and a potted plant belonging to Ms Juliana, on January 22 this year.
If found guilty of threatening Ms Juliana, Koh may be jailed for seven years. There is no maximum punishment stated for threatening death. A convict may be sentenced to a jail term that may extend to seven years or more.
For hurting the policeman, Koh may be jailed up to four years and fined.
Koh may also be jailed up to a year and fined, if he is found guilty of damaging Ms Juliana's property.
