Man charged with rioting with a deadly weapon

SINGAPORE: A man has been charged with rioting with a deadly weapon on January 31 this year.
Thirty-six-year-old Sim Wei Shen is accused of causing hurt to Muhammad Kamal Jabar by stabbing him in his abdomen with a broken bottle.
The fight happened outside disco Sin Rak Thai at Tanglin Shopping Centre at about 5.30 am.
Sim was said to be with four other male friends at the time of the incident. The Court document has described this as an unlawful assembly.
For allegedly rioting with a deadly weapon, Sim faces imprisonment of up to 10 years and is liable to caning.
The other four men who were at the scene can also be found guilty of the same offence.
