Man charged with giving false evidence, abetting Durai to cheat NKF

SINGAPORE: Tan Kee Kan has been charged with giving false evidence and helping former National Kidney Foundation (NKF) CEO TT Durai to use a fake document to cheat the charitable organisation.
Tan is the former managing director of DTC and chairman of TID Associates.
Investigations by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) showed that NKF did not have any dealings with DTC.
They also showed that TT Durai had used a false invoice from DTC to cheat NKF into releasing $20,000 to him in December 2003 for services NKF did not receive.
If found guilty, Tan face up to 12 years’ imprisonment and a fine not exceeding $100,000.
