SINGAPORE: A 35-year-old man was charged in court on Tuesday (May 27) for giving a false address in order to enrol his daughter in a primary school.

The father, who is self-employed, had submitted the false information to the school principal on July 30, 2013. The information was for Phase 2C of the 2013 Primary One Registration Exercise.

To protect the identity of his daughter, the name of the father and the school located in the central area have not been reproduced.

For the offence, he may face up to a one year prison term or a fine of up to S$5,000.

The man told the court that he intends to plead guilty. The case has been adjourned to June 18. - CNA/kk
