Here is the full statement from the Singapore Police Force:

Police have arrested a 26-year-old man believed to be involved in housebreaking and theft in the Jurong West neighbourhood.

On October 8, 2013 at about 6 am, a case of housebreaking was reported at a retail shop at Jurong West St 51. The drawer in the shop was damaged and cash amounting to about $6,000 was discovered stolen.

Officers from Jurong Police Division responded to the scene upon receiving the report. Conducting investigations, they found that the CCTV installed in the shop had captured the incident. Through extensive ground enquiries, the officers managed to establish the identity of the suspect. On October 28, 2013 at 11.30 pm, the suspect was arrested in the vicinity of Boon Lay Place. Preliminary investigations revealed that he could be responsible for several theft-in-dwelling cases in the Jurong West neighbourhood.

The suspect will be charged in Court on October 30, 2013 for Housebreaking and Theft by Night under Section 457 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he may be sentenced up to 14 years’ imprisonment.

Commander of Jurong Police Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police (DAC) Wilson Lim commended his officers for their perseverance and excellent investigative follow up skills which led to the arrest.
