Man arrested for stealing motorcycles at Boon Lay

Police have arrested a 20-year-old man for stealing motorcycles around Boon Lay housing estate.
Since October 2011, the police had received several reports of thefts of motorcycle committed at various multi-storey carparks at Boon Lay Place.
A task force comprising of officers from the Jurong Police Division was formed to solve these cases.
Ground enquiries and stakeouts were conducted by the officers, and their efforts paid off on Wednesday.
The officers spotted a male suspect carrying a helmet and behaving suspiciously near a motorcycle at Blk 212A Boon Lay Place.
Checks revealed that the motorcycle had been reported stolen earlier on the same day.
