Man arrested for splashing paint on motor vehicles as part of loanshark harassment

SINGAPORE - A 43-year-old man was arrested for suspected involvement in cases of loanshark harassment targeting motor vehicles, after police received reports of a motor car and a motorcycle being splashed with paint in the Balestier area.
The man was arrested in Punggol yesterday evening. Plastic bottles filled with paint and paint markers were seized from him.
The man is also believed to be involved in more cases of loanshark harassment at the Bukit Panjang and West Coast areas.
He will be charged tomorrow in Court for acting on behalf of an unlicensed moneylender, and is liable to a jail term of up to 5 years, a fine between $5,000 and $50,000, and at least 3 strokes of the cane.
