A man who sped through a police road block, sparking a chase that ended in a crash, has been arrested on suspicion of rash driving.

The 41-year-old is though to have been behind the wheel of a silver-coloured van which failed to stop at the block on Clementi Loop towards Ayer Rajah Expressway at 2.10am on Sunday.

Police chased the suspect, who is thought to have beaten four red lights before hitting another vehicle at the junction of Boon Lay Way and Toh Guan Road.

Officers ended their pursuit to assist the other driver in the crash as the suspect sped off. However, after follow-up investigations he was arrested just over three hours later near Woodlands Drive 44.
