Man arrested for providing false information to loansharks

Published on Dec 14, 2011

By Fiona Low

Police arrested a 50-year-old man for providing false particulars to loansharks on Wednesday.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect used his previous residential address to obtain illegal loans from loansharks, resulting in the harassment of the owners at his previous residence.

Investigations further revealed that the suspect also failed to report his change of residential address.

Officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division arrested the suspect near Hougang Ave 9.

Loansharks also report to police for false info given by borrowers?

Old dogs pattern, shark should double check first before issuing the loan.
