SINGAPORE: A 40-year-old man has been arrested for making bomb-hoax calls to the emergency "999" hotline.
He is believed to have made the call on October 7 at about 11.30am from a payphone in Clementi.
The suspect was traced and arrested in the vicinity of Clementi Street 13 on Thursday at 12.25pm.
Police said he may have made similar bomb hoax calls on two other days this month, on October 8 and 13.
The suspect will be charged in court on Friday with Breach of the Prohibition Against False Threats of Terrorist Acts.
If convicted, he is liable to a fine of up to S$100,000, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or both.
A court order will also be sought for psychiatric treatment.
