The police have arrested a man on Monday evening for suspected involvement in loansharking activities around Teban Gardens.
Officers from Clementi Police Division were notified of a case of loanshark harassment on Monday evening.
When they arrived on the scene, the suspect was no longer there. Officers then conducted a search around the area and they managed to spot the suspect a few blocks away.
After an interview with the 47-year-old suspect, he was placed under arrest. Preliminary investigations indicate that he is a debtor-turned-runner who assisted loansharks in their business by verifying debtors' particulars.
