A MAN has been arrested after he allegedly threatened to blow up a Hooters restaurant in Hollywood.
CBS AND ABC have reported the LAPD has closed off part of Hollywood Boulevard after the man walked into the Hooters and said he had an explosive device.
Police said a suspect walked inside the restaurant in the 6900 block of Hollywood Blvd. around 4:50pm local time (10.50am AEST) and told customers he had a bomb, CBS reports.
He then reportedly left the device inside and walked out.

A portion of Hollywood Blvd. and the Chinese Theatre have been closed during the investigation.
The suspect later told police the entire situation was a joke.
The unidentified man faces several charges.
