Mall retailers unsure how Covid-19 rules for the unvaccinated will work, expect to see losses

Mall-based businesses are seeking more clarity on how vaccination-differentiated safe management measures will be implemented once the ban on unvaccinated people from shopping centres kicks in on Wednesday (Oct 13).

They want to know if unvaccinated staff can still work at outlets inside malls if they undergo fast and easy rostered routine testing.

Big franchise stores with many outlets, if one outlet gone, many other outlets available. Small sole proprietor shops, if one is gone, it is probably gone for good.

It's not just about the unvaxxed. They have to station checkers at the mall's entrance to individually check the vax status of everyone. It takes time, and queues will be formed. It's such a hassle. That'll deter many from entering.

Calgary restaurant loses business licence and permits for failing to comply with COVID bylaws​

Calgary restaurant Without Papers Pizza has lost its business licence, liquor licence and food handling permits after choosing not to comply with the city's vaccine passport bylaw.

Michael Briegel, chief business license inspector with the City of Calgary, said inspectors have issued 28 tickets to Without Papers, nine of which are for operating the business while its licence was suspended. The other tickets were for the restaurant's refusal to check customers for proof of vaccination or COVID-19 test results, and not displaying signage about the vaccine passport bylaw.

CBC News called Without Papers for comment but no one answered the phone. CBC also visited the restaurant and knocked on the door. There appeared to be people inside, but no one answered the door.

The malls are basically quiet empty nowadays, but you have a PAP that say they are more dangerous for the unvac than crowded and aircond trains and buses.
Ditto for hawker centres that are non aircond.
How is this protecting the unvac?
Everyone can see its a punitive measure and a cruel one on innocent people.

I still find quite a grey area and ambiguity with the words "fully vaccinated".
If after 2nd vaccination, is it considered "fully vaccinated"?
No where does it mention must be two weeks after "fully vaccinated".

Anyway, I had my 2nd vaccination today,
and was issued with a MOH slip that I had taken 2nd vaccination.

Btw, Bhai dont go shopping malls.
