STOMPer maletwetty was swimming at the Broadwalk near Changi Beach Club when he heard a loud sound coming from the seabed and saw a black submarine emerge from the water.

In his email to STOMP today (Oct 30), the 38-year-old swimming instructor recounted the incident.

“I was doing some swim training at the Changi Beach Club at around 12 noon yesterday ( Oct 29).

“While I was swimming, I realised that there was a loud vrooom sound and a black menacing object emerging from the seabed.

“After a while, I realised that it was a submarine, as there was a sailor standing at the top and had swim back to shore to get my mobile to catch a glimpse and to capture photographs of the submarine for my fellow STOMPers to see.

“It seemed like it was heading toward Pasir Ris from that location.

“What I may know is that it may be an American submarine as the US Army base is located in Sembawang but it was my lucky day to have seen and encountered a submarine.

“It is very rare to have spotted it, and in the Changi Area. This is the first time in my life that I have seen it there.

“I hope that after reading this, people will be aware and look out for more interesting stuff at the beach like this submarine.”

It's obviously one of our own submarines. If not, as per SAF SOP, they will deploy Leopards, Artillery, F5s, F16s, Recall F15s from the States, Sent Uavs, mobolise all reservists, Corvettes, Stealth frigates, Fokker 50s, Harpoons and Langcheows to show off the Capabilities of Singapore.
