Anyone who learned malayan history will Know that there are 3 bugis sultanate I. E. Johore, pahang and selangor.
Two branches of malacca sultanate. One in perak. The other johore-riau ended when sultan mahmud died without a heir, and since none of the immediate family members are interested in becoming the sultan, bugis warlords took over.
Bugis were mercenaries/ pirates from Sulawesi. They fought with the Dutch to defeat the Portuguese, and later fought the dutch for piracy rights in malacca straits.
So in this context, sultan Selangor is indeed a immigrant from Sulawesi.
