BREAKING: In his latest address to the nation, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yakob confirms that Malaysia will be entering the endemic phase by 1st April 2022.

In addition, the country's international borders will also be officially open on the same day, permitting international travel into Malaysia once more.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 8 — Malaysia will transition to the endemic stage of Covid-19 on April 1, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said despite that, the public will still need to wear a face mask in public and MySejahtera will remain in use.

As part of his announcement of Malaysia's endemic transition phase, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri says that all business operating hours will no longer be restricted from 1st April 2022.

This will mean that businesses will be allowed to operate based upon the operating hours outlined in their business licenses. 24-hour F&B businesses will also be allowed to operate.
