KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – An officer says Malaysian police rushed to a robbery scene only to find the suspects were fellow officers.
Senior Kuala Lumpur Police Officer Khairi Ahrasa said Tuesday that three men of a special elite police unit were allegedly caught robbing five men at a house. One of the officers was armed with a pistol.
He says a neighbor heard the noise inside the house Sunday and called the police, who came and arrested the policemen.
Ahyrasa says the men will remain in police custody until Thursday and are being investigated for armed robbery, which carries a penalty of up to 14 years in prison and caning.
