Disturbing news from Malaysia’s east coast after two brothers were formally arrested after repeatedly raping, and impregnating their younger sister.

Two males, aged 17 and 19, were taken into custody after their 13-year-old sister began to complain of feeling unwell, with stomach pains. After she was taken to her local hospital Sunday night, doctors discovered that she was heavily pregnant.

After undergoing a medical exam, officials were able to determine that she was 36 weeks pregnant, in labor, and gave birth to a baby girl later that night.

Police then questioned the girl’s family in Chukai, Pahang, and discovered that the two brothers had been raping their sister repeatedly over the course of two years. The family unit had recently moved to the town from Kuantan.

Cases of incest and rape have not been far from the headlines in Malaysia, with a 14-year-old boy impregnating his 16-year-old sister earlier this year, leading her to give birth to the premature girl in the bathroom of their family home. Neither were given a sentence in the case.

A litany of incestuous rape cases in 2017 had one Sarawak lawmaker even suggest that perpetrators should be chemically castrated as punishment, while only last month a local lingerie maker implied that a grandfather lusting over his grandkids wasn’t 100% on him. Blame porn, and the fact that grandma isn’t as hot as she used to be, according to her. She later retracted her statements.
