AN ARMY camp has become the latest hot spot for the Influenza A (H1N1) virus in Singapore.

Two people who caught the bug on Tuesday were linked to the Maju Camp off Clementi Road and the Singapore Armed Forces camp has now been classified as another H1N1 cluster.

The Health Ministry (MOH) did not provide any details of these two cases.

Maju Camp is used by many National Servicemen who can go there to take their individual physical fitness test or attend remedial trainings.

The two cases at Maju Camp were part of 26 new H1N1 cases on Tuesday. Ten of the cases caught the virus here, while the other 16 returned here after travelling to H1N1-affected countries.

The latest cases here bring Singapore's total number of H1N1 cases to 194.

Most of the imported cases have come from Melbourne, the Philippines and the United States.

There are now six local clusters accounting for 36 patients. Ten local patients could not be linked.

The two biggest clusters are both linked to churches - Riverlife Church in Loyang and the Fishermen of Christ Church camp at Prince George's Park - which each have 10 infected people.

Popular nightclub The Butter Factory in One Fullerton has nine cases.

Not just H1N1, the Haze will stop all army trainings, including RTs. Hooray!

Areas such as Sumatra and Borneo regularly suffer from forest fires, but risks appear to have risen with the return of the El Nino weather pattern this year.

"The dry season (in Riau) will peak at the end of June to July which may increase hotspots and with wind coming from Australia to Asia, the haze could travel to Malaysia and Singapore," said Blucer Doloksaribu, head of the meteorology agency in Riau's provincial capital of Pekanbaru.
