<!-- story content : start --> AN INDONESIAN maid who tried to harm her employer's twin babies by adding a pinch of detergent into their milk powder was jailed for three years on Thursday. Titin Agustiana, 24, had earlier pleaded guilty to trying to administer an 'unwholesome thing'' with intent to cause hurt to the 2 1/2-month-old twin sons of her employer on Aug 11. The court heard that she was unhappy with her employer for scolding her for shoddy work. She added a pinch of detergent to the victims' milk powder as she wanted to make them sick. She had hoped that her employer would pay more attention to the victims, and less attention to her and scold her less. Titin, who said she regretted what she had done and was very sorry, could have been jailed for up to five years.

Maid Titin resented having to look after the boys, it is said.

<!-- story content : start --> UNHAPPY at being scolded by her employer, a maid added powdered detergent to the milk powder of his twin infants. Titin Agustiana, 24, denied wrongdoing when confronted - and even sipped the adulterated milk to prove it was fine. She only confessed later. A court heard that she wanted to make the baby boys ill, so that their parents would focus on them instead of picking on her for her sloppy work. On Thursday, she was jailed for three years for trying to hurt the 2 1/2-month-old babies. District Judge May Mesenas said: 'Our courts have constantly endeavoured to protect domestic workers from abusive employers, and severe deterrent sentences have been meted out to employers who abuse them. 'Conversely, the court should also protect employers and their family members from domestic workers who turn violent on them.'
