Maid detained over death of employer
PASIR MAS: A senior citizen was found dead in a pool of blood at Kampung Lubuk Tapah here. Kelantan deputy police chief SAC II Mazlan Lazim said police detained an Indonesian maid, aged 21, a few hours later to assist in investigations.
According to Mazlan, the victim, Yeap Seok Pen, 60, was found by her son at about 2pm when he came to visit his mother.
The incident was believed to have taken place between 12 noon and 1pm yesterday.
“At the time, only the victim and the maid were in the house and neighbours heard a commotion before her death,” he said.
Mazlan said the victim’s son found his mother in the hall and her face was covered with blood, believed to have been caused by a sharp object.
He added that police, who have classified the case as murder, mounted an immediate search for the maid and found her walking in Simpang Empat, Jalan Tok Uban near here at 5.15pm.
A witness, Che Noh Harun, 55, who lives in the village said he saw the maid walking away hurriedly at about 12.30pm. — Bernama
