【明報專訊】東涌昨發生比電影情節更富戲劇性的瘋狂駕駛案，一名中年男子駕駛報失的士接載美籍女乘客往機場，疑因開車時使用手機，遇警車截查即加速逃走，從東涌「踩爆偈」狂飈40公里到沙田新田圍邨，沿途衝收費亭、衝燈、衝閘，更連累兩名騎警翻車受傷，的士最終剷上路壆，司機就逮。
飽受生死時速驚嚇的女乘客，事後由警車載往機場，幸能趕及登機。
被捕司機姓吳，55歲，涉及瘋狂駕駛、偷車及虛假文書等罪名被帶署。警方證實該的士9月10日在旺角區報失，相信有不法分子套上車牌及偽造行車證載客，正調查案中內情。
赴機場上賊車 美籍女華人「腳軟」
先上賊車、再上警車的中年女乘客為美籍華人，準備乘飛機返回美國，詎料誤上「瘋狂的士」，兜了一個大圈後流落沙田。據悉該女乘客雖無受傷，但一度「嚇到腳軟」，需旁人攙扶。警員證實她是無辜受牽連後，由於她表示「不敢再乘的士」，因此特別派警車載她到機場，據悉她終能趕及登機。
事發於傍晚6時左右，吳某駕的士載着女乘客沿北大嶼山公路往機場，至小蠔灣對開時，疑因開車時使用手機，被警員示意停車，吳某未有理會，反而加速離去，與警方展開追逐戰。
7車追捕 兩鐵馬翻側
的士飈至東涌迴旋處時，轉彎往九龍方向行駛，至青嶼幹線收費亭亦直衝而過，再沿汀九橋駛至大欖隧道口前，又突從避車處轉彎繼續駛向九龍。
消息稱，的士經青衣轉往荃灣，再穿越城門隧道抵達沙田，沿途遇燈衝燈，穿越城門隧道時亦無繳費，而尾隨追截的警車不斷增加，最高峰時有7車從後追趕，但的士始終沒有停下來，其間兩輛鐵馬在車公廟路彎位失控翻側，兩名騎警拋出受傷，幸送院敷治後無大礙。

雙方追逐約40公里，約半小時後抵達新田圍邨，的士逆線撞毁欄閘，在邨內剷上路壆後停下。街坊表示，的士撞欄時發出巨響，嚇得途人驚呼尖叫，人車紛紛走避，場面十分混亂。其後多輛警車亦趕到，10多名警員立場撲出，吳某則打開車門狂奔逃走，但終在一間餐廳前被警員制服拘捕。
