Just saw in a YOUTUBE vid clip a M1 with 3 separate protections place one after another - nearest to tank body:: passive armour; ERA and a tile like slab with good curvature (looks a bit like fish scale albeit geometric)............ what the heck is that? Cud it be depleted uranium to slow down the projectile before ERA blows it to pieces?

The curved plates are yet another form of ERA.
So the kiasu US of A got two layers of ERA on the tank, the brick like ERA, and now the curved plate ERA.

Because they do not have APS , which take out the rocket far far away from the tank
Would you rather have two layers of ERA instead of taking out the rocket far away to get rid of those nonsence instead of it on your tank?
