He has been invited to advise Armenia on how it might develop into a first-world country. The Armenians are a proud people, proud of their history, culture and religion. Armenians are deeply bound by culture and religion. Would it be good to change all that for money and mordern luxuries? Opening up to the world is essential for economic development.
If Armenia does not open up, it will not be able to make progress, and if does not make progress, it may not be able to withstand hostile forces at some point in the future.
