<!-- story content : start -->A COMMITTEE set up in 2010 to enrich the cultural landscape in Singapore will seek opinions from members of the arts community through conducting focus group sessions and launching an online consultation portal.
This, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, is in line with the Government's efforts to 'involve Singaporeans in developing ideas and policies that affect them'.
Speaking as the Guest-of-Honour at the offical opening of the School of the Arts (Sota) at Dhoby Ghaut, PM Lee said the Government will do likewise in other areas and called for Singaporeans to 'respond in the same spirit'.
In his speech, PM Lee also illustrated the growth of the arts scene here over the past 10 years.
He said: 'On average, there are 90 events a day, almost three times as many as there were just a decade ago.
'More people are...attending performances and exhibitions, and there is more widespread support for arts, not just from the Government, but also from the private sector and many individuals.'
