This job is so attractive that more and more candidates are coming forward to stand for elections, unfortunately , some dont even understand the stringent criteria . Some ah ter ah kow also jump into the band wagon either to gain publicity or have been sent to frighten voters of wrong person being elected ,am sure voting public not so stupid to vote fools in.

So far the only candidate Tan Kin Lian seems most credible , especially after his "Robin Hood" debut in the Lehman Brothers fiasco. He seems like a man with a kind heart who will fight for the weak. Since he is not a politician he stands a good chance .

I think newspaper say 7 people collect forms right? Let's count.

1 Martin Lee. He withdraw already
2 Oei. Confirm cannot get to contest one.
3) Tan Kin Lian.
4) Nathan. Because he say not decided. Means he got form.
5) Tony Tan. Because he say not decided. Means he got form.
6) George Yeo.
7) Tan Cheng Bock

So we know who collect forms already.

Of course everyone will say they are there to serve the country, protect the reserves blah blah blah - and not there for the salary. The only exception are : Dr Tony Tan and Prof Tommy Koh : Dr Tony Tan has the natural look of a President. Equally respectable is Prof Tommy Koh.

Haha, incumbent RS Nathan is just a red herring! For the fun of it - to get back at those who sneer at him and said he has nothing to do as a President. Who says he doesn't have a sense of humour?

Mr Nathan said: "When I decide, I will tell you.... People say 'this old man, what the hell is he still there, wanting to do it?' Some others think I'm doing nothing, so it's a waste of time for them to think of me.
