STOMPer Alicia's dinner at Long John Silver's was ruined when she nearly swallowed a rusty screw that was found in her soup.

In an email to STOMP today (Mar 7), the STOMPer says:

"I was having dinner with my colleague at IMM Long John's Silver.

"When I was drinking the clam chowder soup, I felt something strange and spat out a rusty screw.

"The store manager kept on apologising to us and had replaced my soup but was reluctant to give us a copy of the complaint we lodged."

STOMPer Chris and his family were sharing a McFlurry at the McDonalds outlet at Compass Point when to their horror, they found first a staple bullet and then a 1.5cm long screw in their ice cream.

In an email to us today (Feb 20), the STOMPer said:

"My wife and my son were sharing a McFlurry bought from McDonalds Compass Point today (Feb 20) when my wife found first a staple bullet and then to our second surprise, a 1.5cm long screw.

"Now it was my wife who found both of these sharp and dangerous objects so I am not sure if my son had already swallowed any. Hopefully he had not.

"We went back and asked for the manager. Someone came to us and apologised but it is very easy just to say sorry.

"As one of the most popoular fast food chains, McDonalds should ensure that all the necessary safety checks MUST be done at all times prior to serving foods to patrons like us.

"We hope they see this and prevent similar occurences in the future.

"We won't be eating in McDonalds Compass Point for a while I guess."

STOMPer Yong said he found a cockroach in his daughter's spaghetti that he ordered at the Chinese Swimming Club cafe. He said it was the second time they found a pest in food served at the cafe.

Said the STOMPer:

"There was a cockroach in my child's spaghetti served at the cafe in Chinese Swimming Club.

"The poor kid almost finished up the entire serving and she didn't realise the pest in her meal earlier because it was embedded at the bottom of the plate!

"Fortunately, she didn't mistake the cockroach's antenna as spaghetti.

"This is the second time we found a pest in the food served at this cafe.

"It seems that the restaurant has not cleaned up their act after the first incident. Very IRRESPONSIBLE, I think!"

STOMPer Joan3996 found a piece of metal in the lunch she bought from a stall at the Choa Chu Kang Lot 1 food court, but the cook did not even bother to apologise.

Said the STOMPer:

"I went for lunch at Choa Chu Kang Lot 1 food court at about 12.30pm today (Feb 17).

"A metal piece was found in my food.

"The cook (woman in late thirties) made no attempts to apologise or explain.

"She didn't even look at me in the eyes. Utterly disgusted."
