Those who are familar with LOMOTIL, will know this medicine for diarrhoea. It had been around for such a long time, how long I really do not know.

I usually buy a strip or two to keep in stock, for bringing along for travel, etc., just in case!

Went to the U nitwit pharmacy ( U know what, lah!), the pharmacist in attendant told me that LOMOTIL is no longer in production, and offered a generic version.

My question is, really?, I did a google, and found out that LOMOTIL is still around, and no news of it being no longer in production.

Is the pharmacist right?, or they are promoting drugs that the pharmaceutical companies are giving them good margins in profits?

Nothing wrong in generic drugs, but is the U nitwit pharmacist telling the truth.

Anyone, out there, have news that LOMOTIL is out of production?

Anyway, there is a diarrhoea outbreak out there at the moment. The alternative to LOMOTIL is IMODIUM, but the latter has known serious side effects.

There's a old folks method.

Take a very little amount of cooked rice. Cook it some more in a fair amount of water until it's like the water you throw away if you wash your rice before cooking. Fairly consistent in stopping runs.

Hwn I was much younger, I have a very sensitive stomach, that is why I got acquainted with LOMOTIL. An effective over the counter medicine, of course, I take it with caution.

It had around for donkey years, yes!, if we go JB, it still could be nought from the pharmacies there.

Yes!, I know of the old wives method...but LOMOTIL..is easy to use.

But, I was taken aback by U Nitwit pharmacist telling me that LOMOTIL was out of production, and offered me a generic version. Nothing is wrong with that...but are we being priced out to cheap, efficient, patent medicines?, or we have to buy ones that the pharmarcies, want us to buy?, when a better, cheaper ones are available?...that is the question on my mind!.

You can buy carbon tablet off the shelf which is very effective for lao sai and wind. Buy the german brand which I cannot rememeber the name. The only "side effect" is that your shit will turn out like carbon as well.........haha
