The police arrested a 31-year-old loanshark runner after seeing him behave suspiciously at an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) on Wednesday.
Officers were conducting anti-loanshark operations at Block 636 Bukit Batok Central just after 9pm, when they spotted the man.
They found three ATM cards, a stack of bank transaction receipts and a mobile phone containing debtors' records on him.
The police said that the suspect is a debtor-turned-runner who is believed to have assisted loansharks by conducting electronic fund transactions.
First-time offenders found guilty of assisting in the carrying out of the business of an unlicensed moneylender, may be fined between $30,000 and $300,000, be jailed for a maximum of four years, and may receive up to six strokes of the cane.
