SINGAPORE: Police have arrested two men suspected of involvement in loanshark harassment.
They were caught on Monday after a resident called the police upon seeing them loiter along the corridor of Block 21, Hougang Avenue 3, at about 6.45am.
When officers arrived at the block, they saw the two suspects, aged 20 and 23 years, coming down the staircase.
The two fled when they saw the officers.
One of them was caught along Upper Serangoon Road, while the other was detained at the car park in front of the block after a short chase.
Police found items linked to loansharking, such as a phone believed to contain debtors' records, cans of red paint and one screw driver.
Police believed they had splashed paint on the walls of debtors' units.
The 23-year-old suspect will be charged on Wednesday in court with loanshark harassment while investigation into the other suspect is on going.
