I was there earlier in the day, the security guards were already on standby preparing to lock down the place: barricades were placed outside the mall entrances, the helix bridge and the boardwalk area. The floating platform was all locked up, reserved for people who paid for tickets, the countdown show was called 'Star Island'.
Even better: at the Clarke Quay area three CECA dudes (tourists?) stopped me and asked for directions to a 'round round thing', which they used a finger to make a big circle. It was after a bit of questioning did I find out they were referring to the Singapore Flyer.
