  • The pilots of the doomed Lion Air Flight 610 last month fought with a malfunctioning automated flight system, data from the flight’s black box in a preliminary report reviewed by The New York Times shows.

  • The almost new Boeing 737 Max crashed into the Java Sea on October 29, killing all 189 people on board.

  • The data in the report seems to suggest the pilots were unaware of how – or unable – to override the automated system.

When was the last time you clean your own clothes instead of using automatic washing machine?

Didn’t I say before that it’s all computer and nothing mechanical and so pilot job is not very difficult? See? Proven computer malfunction only pilots also couldn’t do a thing to save the passengers.

Plane was just ascending when it got into trouble.most pilots would think it will be just another day flying.
Plane was still low and maybe no time to react as it was diving towards the ground. Sure panic.
The indonesian authorities did say the plane was not airworthy.
Now when the last pilot signed off, did they notify mechanics the plane has a malfunction.
And did the mechanic tell the incoming pilot to be aware of this fault if it was not fix or be on guard if its fixed but same result were to occur.

Whatever it is, the fact remains computer malfunction only the pilots are as useless as passengers and are unable to control the plane.

This accident has nothing to do with the Auto pilot system.Problem is the MCAS was getting erroneous data from one of the systems. They infact switched off the Auto pilot already before the crash.

I question his competence to be a captain. How much hours did he have? Indon standard must be very low.

And there was one switch that could have turned it off. The Ah Neh captain didn't know.

Maxxi said autopilot already turned off.

Only fake polit qualification can make this mistake. Switch on auto pilot too early and when he knew his mistake computer system take over....

Must be he nose up more that 20 that computer system failed to calculate and cause error 21....

Ah neh again stealiing jobs every good job with fake qualification..

Auto pilot was off. They were not trained to swtich off that one other switch.

the 'trim stabilizer' switch was not turned off so the system contiuned to nudge nose down (20 times) CECA reacted to all those by pulling up.They are only tot to off that switch is only for "run away stab".Not for MCAS issue.Auto pilot was off.Basically he had no idea what was unravelling.

yes not only how many hrs but what type of hrs he had.Cannot vette these CECA.Kotitiam lic also have

Actual pilot training involves manual piloting. In normal circumstances, that's landing and taking off. The good ones are the ones solving mechanical issues and flying the plane manually.

IQ and RACE ... I wonder if this guy was properly trained. A degree from an Indian Uni cannot compared with a degree from USA Uni. There are many graduates from Malaysia and Philippines, how many actually has degree equivalent to the West? If they are, where is their innovation and industries? It is all about IQ and RACE. Sorry to say low IQ Race will always be second.
