CHILE: Singapore stands ready to assist India in any way to secure the safe release of a Singaporean and other hostages in Mumbai, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
In a letter to Indian Premier Manmohan Singh, Mr Lee said he is confident that the Indian people will rally around the government as it deals with the terrorist attacks and brings the perpetrators to justice.
Confidence? From him or his father? Both cannot be trust, remember the golden era thingy?
Mr Lee said the Mumbai attacks are a reminder that terrorism continues to be a common threat to everyone, and Singapore strongly supports the Indian government’s efforts in fighting the scourge of terrorism.
Ya, and make us remember Mas Selemat's escape too...
Speaking to the Singapore media on the sidelines of his bilateral visit to Chile on Thursday, Mr Lee also noted that it would take some time for confidence to return to Mumbai, which is the financial centre of India.
He cannot solve the problem in SG, still dare comment bigger country? WTF is this mickey mouse?
"It’s a bolder, wider, more coordinated attack, with foreigners involved. So I think the impact will be worse," he said.
As for the security landscape in Singapore, Mr Lee said the country has made progress in not only stepping up on physical security, but also working with its neighbours to pursue terror groups in the region as well as develop immunity within the society.
Neighbour of Islam? Will they turn their guns at you?
The community engagement programme, for example, ensures that Singapore’s social fabric will remain intact in the event of a terror attack.
"That one is a continuing effort. We’ve made a good start, but we have to continue to build on this and make sure that not only are the plans in place, but the human contacts can be relied on," said Mr Lee.
Rely on who? WKS?? Limpei have to consider twice...
The prime minister added that this is not the first time there has been a terrorist attack in India, but none of the previous incidents are as bold and as disastrous as the one on Wednesday.
Mr Lee also offered his condolences to India and the families of the victims.
India will return condolences to him soon.
