I just met a lady staying at Bedok South. She has kidney problems and goes for dialysis 3 times a week. She has heart problems. She has diabetes and she is almost blind. She is a divorcee with a Sec 3 daughter. Because of her medical condition, she cant work.
Her financial situation is acknowledged as very bad by the govt and she has been helped by the CDC. The CDC gave her $250 cash per month, pays for her one-room HDB rental of abt $50/mth, pays for her conservancy of $27 and pays her utility bills. The CDC also gave her daughter school pocket money of $35 per mth
But last mth, she was told by CDC that it has been helping her for 2yrs and now cant continue to help her . To lessen the impact, the CDC will continue to pay for her rental, conservancy and utility bills. The CDC has cut her $250 cash and $35 pocket money.
Her situation has not changed and her daughter cant go to work. So why cut $285/mth from her? Will the CDC cut her hdb rental, etc later?
She is poor, sick and needy.
Isnt she left behind by the pap?
