WP's 'seductive gloss' masks true intentions: Lim
By Lynn Lee

TRANSPORT Minister Raymond Lim on Sunday night dismissed the Workers Party's appeal to voters as 'seductive gloss' that masks their true intentions.

The WP has been saying it wanted be an alternative voice for Singaporeans, but Mr Lim accused it of wanting to eventually take over government.

'Voters must see this ambition for what it is,' he told the crowd of around 4,000 at the People's Action Party's first rally for East Coast GRC

'It is their future they want to secure, not yours,' he said at Bedok Stadium, adding that this was why the WP team did not have any concrete plans for the constituency.

In contrast, the PAP could offer East Coast's 120,324 voters firm plans such as a new MRT line and revitalisation of Bedok town centre.

The PAP was not trying to 'scare people', he stressed, by painting the reality of a divided Parliament with the entry of more opposition members. Governance would also suffer, he said.

'If people are standing in different positions, it will be difficult to agree on what matters most.'
Can anyone explain to me what this guy is saying? Is he saying that:

1) Singapore belongs only to the PAP?

2) Singapore can only be run by the PAP and PAP alone, and anyone else is trying to undo Singapore?

3) Isn't what the PAP's been doing so far during the campaign (all the carrots and sticks) also amount to the PAP trying to secure its own future?

4) Isn't Singapore also the homes of opposition candidates? What intentions could the opposition have? Isn't their intentions the same as PAP's? Why is it that only the PAP and PAP alone could have the power to rule?

Why, why, why????

Please do not let them win. My ulterior motive is to protect my million dollar salaries and bonuses, so I can go on cooking classes and buy a house for my children overseas to migrate!

What is wrong if they have intention of taking over the government? Is PAP the only rightful owner of Governmentship?

For the first time in decades, these leeches have finally woken up to the fact that they could lose their jobs!

Actually, the comments made by the various senior members of PAP are quite amusing - they seemed genuinely surprised that the ultimate goal is for the WP to try and be the government. George Yeo in particular made it seem like it was some oppo secret that he had just seen.
