Finally, Mediacorp decides to broadcast the Lehman brothers minibonds protest in Hong Kong, but, but it misses out the following information which is more relevant to us:
1. The protest outside DBS Hong Kong Central Office at Queens’ Street with protestors holding placards condemning DBS for misleading and cheating their monies.
2. The protest march led by DBS Self Help Group to the Singapore Consulate where they were stopped by a police barricade from barging into the office.
3. Hong Kong Finance Secretary John Tsang’s promise to inject funds into a legal aid fund to help investors sue the banks should the need arises.
4. The Hong Kong Consumer Council’s press statement yesterday that it has put in place a special task force to assist the investors including financial support.
So for those of you going to Hong Lim Park tomorrow, you will know what went wrong after watching the above video. First you “protest” at the wrong place. Second, it’s more like a picnic gathering than a protest, you think anybody will take you seriously ?
DISCLAIMER: We are not instigating you to emulate the Hongkies and protest outside DBS Headquarters at Shenton Way. It is AGAINST Singapore’s laws to assemble in groups of 4 anywhere else on the island besides Hong Lim Park. In case you really want to do so, please apply for a police permit first.
