SEOUL, March 9 (Yonhap) -- Actor Jo Min-ki, who has faced a string of sexual misconduct allegations, was found dead at a private property in eastern Seoul late Friday, police said. He was 52.
The veteran actor has been accused of sexually molesting at least eight victims, mostly his former students from a university in a regional province where he taught drama.
Police said he was found by his wife hanged at about 4 p.m. in a storage area in the basement of the officetel building where he resided. He was already dead when he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Police are trying to determine the exact cause of death, believing he took his own life.
Police booked him late last month over sexual abuse charges. The scandal saw him forced out of his professorship and his decadelong acting career left in tatters.
