From thousands of cases of loanshark harassments, snatch thieves, molest cases to drunk driving and car road racing, Sinkieland is like back into to 1970s where crime rate hits all time high! From Little India to Chinatown, I see people sleeping in void decks and some in MRT stations!!!

The SPF seems to be unable to cope. What is happening to this country which safety is touted as one of the attraction!

PAP seems to be out of touch with basic security and peace issues while it plough all its resources to "fix" opposition.:eek:

The New Paper

SINGAPORE - The police have waged a massive campaign against loan sharks and unlicensed moneylending in recent years.

There are hotlines to help loan shark runners get out, community-based campaigns to weed them out and multiple arrests to cripple syndicates.

The work has been long and hard, but it seems to be bearing fruit.

In just seven months this year, 750 people have been arrested in association with illegal moneylending activities.

The efforts by the police in fighting unlicensed moneylending (UML) appears to be yielding positive results. The number of harassment cases has fallen significantly by 24 per cent last year - 8,988 cases, down from 11,776 case in 2011.

But the battle continues as the number of people arrested for unlicensed money lending and harassment activities last year remained high at 1,903, against 1,981 arrested in 2011.

Some of police initiatives include the X-Ah-Long Hotline (1800-924 5664) set up by the National Crime Prevention Council to receive UML-related information anonymously from the public.

In March, the Singapore Police Force launched the Community Safety and Security Programme combating UML. It aimed to strengthen the police-community collaboration in combating UML through the following three-pronged approach: awareness, prevention and support.

As part of the event, a set of anti-UML lift decals were placed at more than 400 HDB lift lobbies across Singapore.

The punishment for assisting a loan shark carries a fine of up to $500,000, up to five years in jail, and up to 12 strokes of the cane.

For abetting acts of harassment, one can be jailed for up to nine years, fined up to $60,000 and given up to six strokes of the cane
 
I call for Death Penalty for all Loanshark and runners! Caning not enough.

SINgapore is still the safest place to wander out during the day & especially the nights & early morning; though there are spike in petty theft & other violent acts. I stay with friends periodically in KL....I brought my habits of waking early wherever I go...so 6.30am -7am I am up, so I will go the housing estate center (KL) to have breakfast, along the way ( 200 - 300m) away from where I live, i will pass a condo, & outside there, a bangla would be selling the morning papers..I would buy a copy & proceed on..one morning I was stalked by a man of the 'relac' type...I had to walk fast, buy that papers & go to the center where there are hawkers, people..etc..I lost him. My point is, it is still very safe here..people who stalk you quietly are you 'know who'..other than that....it is still one of the safest place to walk alone anytime here..though the odds of one getting into trouble is dropping by the day..

Low crime, doesn't mean NO CRIME...still safe!

What about loanshark harassment cases? 10000 cases a year for a small little country! THAT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPATABLE! Police and Home Ministry sleeping!!!!

Loanshark harassments incidents have not been solved for a decade! Still open 2 casinos to earn tax revenue! Innocent peasants suffer. What the fuck is PAP doing. No political will to resolve problems affecting day to day living and security of its people!

Police only protect elites! Only stupid peasants continue to vote them and screw himself and herself in its ass!!!

From my reading of most of your posts, sometimes I really wonder why don't you come back and join the PAP. It's good money also you know and best of all, very cho-bo-lan.
