Recently I have not been able to get my Thai roaming signal, which I need in order to do Internet Banking on my Thai bank account. I do get the 'R' signal intermittently, but it's just not steady enough to perform banking task.

I called up Truemove, and the support agent said it's due to Singapore shutting down the 2G/3G network. But what has Singapore shutting down the 2G/3G network got to do with my NOT getting 'R' signal in Singapore ?

And she kept telling me I should purchase a roaming package in order to connect to the 4G/5G signal in Singapore. I don't buy that.

As long as my Thai SIM card is still active, I should be able to receive a 'R' signal when I'm in Singapore.

Does anyone know what is wrong ?

I have an AIS 5G Sim card which I need as I also have a bank account in Thailand. However, I didn't buy any AIS roaming package. So cannot use in Singapore. However, when I need to do banking transactions on Bangkok Bank App on my Thai phone in Singapore, I just hooked that phone with my AIS Thai simcard to wifi (either home or mobile hotspot). No problems leh. After banking transactions still can receive SMS from Bangkok Bank and also emails too.

Yes, if you have an old sim card meant for 3G, you will have problem trying to use in Sickipoora. I have a similar problem with an old sim card from another country.

So the SIM card is at fault, not that Singapore has shut down 3G.

All I need to do is to go to TRUE shop to change to a 4G/5G SIM card ? I kept asking the question, and the support agent kept avoiding to answer.
