SINGAPORE: Temasek Holdings executive director and chief executive officer (CEO) Ho Ching has squeezed into Forbes' list of the world's most powerful women as the only Singaporean.

She came in at number 72 on the top-100 list, even as she saw her ranking fall in the last few years.

In 2010, she was ranked 30th and as recently as 2007 she was considered the third most powerful woman in the world.

SingTel's chief executive Chua Sock Koong was left out of the list this year after making it to number 71 in 2010 as the only other Singaporean.

Meanwhile, German Chancellor Angela Merkel came in at the top of the list this year, followed by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff.

The youngest on the list is 25-year-old Lady Gaga who came in at number 11.

Forbes said the women who made the list derive their power from money and might, and also social media reach and influence.

Heard over the BBC that PRC gov`t is afraid of Lady Gaga and wanted her videos made unavailable over the internet in China.

Cheers!
