The 31-year-old midfielder, who finished the 2011-12 English season as an unused substitute with United on Sunday as they fell agonisingly short of the title, will return to his homeland on Friday.
“I’m excited that I’m going to meet fans from my hometown Suwon where I dreamt of becoming a national team member from childhood,” the Seoul-born star said.
It is understood, Park will invite students and teachers from Seryu Elementary School, Anyong Middle School and Suwon Technical High School, all of which he attended, to the Suwon-Ulsan game.
Another Korean legend, Ahn Jung-Hwan, said he hoped Park could boost the domestic competition.
Ahn, who retired in January and is currently working as an honorary public relations ambassador for the K-League, said: “I think Ji-sung will help us once he retires
“Like me, Ji-Sung received a lot of support from fans, so I think he should also help the K-League.”
