Textbook by Singapore Pri 3 (social study) pg 31 had triggered of unhappiness in Korea.
In the text, "Some people do not have a roof over their heads. There are many reasons why people are homeless. Some of these people are too poor to rent or buy houses. In some countries, there is insufficient housing for everyone."
After this paragraph, there is a photograph showing Homeless people on the street, 2006.
Then another paragraph, "Even with limited land, our government is able to provide sufficient housing for the people"
This text irritated the koreans, because the picture has a korean-sign (exit 7).
The koreans take this badly. Public opinion in korean felt that, while the photograph did not wrote explicitly that it is korea, but the korean-sign suggested that it is in Korea. People can conclude this is a comparision between Korea and Singapore. Korean ministry or education has expressed concerned.
