SINGAPORE: Reform Party Secretary-General Kenneth Jeyaretnam said he does not expect any real change in government policies from the decision by Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong to leave the Cabinet.
"Well, I think it was not clear if it was planned before the election. I think it is a largely a public relations exercise and it would not make any significant change to government policies," he said.
Mr Jeyaretnam was speaking to Channel NewsAsia before the party's outreach event to thank residents of West Coast GRC for their support.
The party has put up a plan for the next General Election.
Mr Jeyaretnam said the party is looking to establish branches in West Coast GRC and the single member constituencies of Pioneer and Radin Mas.
The party wants to build up membership in the areas and continue house-to-house visits.
