KJ (Kenneth Jeyaretnam) - “I deleted a couple of uncalled for remarks -gives the opposition a bad name.
Be glad I'm here in Poland and Berlin earlier in the month. I'm honoured to be invited. Anyone who feels the rationale behind my invitation was flawed can address their complaints to The Polish Embassy who issued the invite.
Why don't we remember what we're fighting for and what we're fighting against. All this sour grapes and energy spent attacking me is wasted energy. It doesn't bother me and it achieves nothing.”
SP (Seelan Palay) - “All the best for your invite Kenneth. But perhaps you should ask yourself your own question first: 'Why don't we remember what we're fighting for and what we're fighting against. All this sour grapes and energy spent attacking me is wasted energy.'
You should ask yourself that question before badmouthing the rest of the opposition and activists just to make yourself look better, word does get around you know?”
SP - “Yes we should all practice democracy by respecting each others views. But that is very different from:
1) Pretending to have one kind of facade when interacting with people and then saying all kinds of unfounded rubbish behind their backs and
2) Asking people to remember what we're fighting for and what we're fighting against when the person asking doesn't seem to be reminding him/herself in the first place.
These are not questions of democracy, these are questions (of) character ”
PL (Peter Li) - “Seelan, mind sharing more abt e points u have stated?”
SP - “Hi Peter, I can share more but I think such comments will be 'democratically deleted'.”
Peter Li - “Seelan, oh really... How do u know it will be democratically deleted?”
SP - “Because it has been before, even in this very thread. We can talk about it in person if you wish.”
PL - “Icic...then how is those messages that were deleted different from those that are not deleted? Since u mentioned it was 'selectively' deleted.”
SP - “Perhaps you can ask Mr Kenneth why.”
