Large portion with crispy pork lard and spicy sambal belacan, fried with a lovely charcoal fragrance and covered in tasty seafood gravy. Quite good value for $4 considering all the fresh ingredients of prawns, sotong etc.

Probably the best plate of fried hokkien mee I have tried for a long time. Definitely shall return next time I am around Joo Chiat.

Is it still nice? I heard their portions are smaller and standards have dropped.
Only ate theirs 10+years ago, as my parents brought me there.

They have another outlet at Jalan Kechot.

Do Not Worry
25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

Quite consistent to me. Last visited the place afew days ago. Portions seem ok. Did not know he has other outlets. I particularly like the style of Kim's fried hokkien prawn mee, tends to stand out from the many average stalls around Singapore.

Standard's dropped. There are much better stalls out there. :)

I think you could try the Geylang Lor 27 Hokkien Mee. Hope someone can correct me on location if I am wrong.

This one I see many people queue and queue to ta pow.

Lorong 29 left hand corner coffee shop; his brother Alex is better at Still Rd junction with Koon Seng Rd.. opposite the durian stall:D

he wear long sleeves and rolex to fry his noodle, thats what he is famous for. As for noodles, i think it is ok, good but not fantastic.

He used to have a few outlets but in the end i think most of them were closed.

Will try that, a bit pricey for $4. Hope he gives a lot of prawns and sotong if not, it's not worth paying the 4 bucks (there are still other good Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee going for $3 or less)

Thanks for the photos, postnew. Easier to find the place with the landmark from the photos.

The noodles must be good, for him to be able to buy a rolex and wear it while frying! :)

If I'm not wrong, the man has won/earned and lost/gambled fortunes a few times over. If you're feeling rich, you can ask for abalone hokkien mee. He only uses the best canned abalone.
