Kim Jong Il spotted in China

NORTH Korean leader Kim Jong Il (above, in dark glasses) was seen leaving a hotel in Dalian, north-eastern China, yesterday as he began a secretive visit to his country's main ally. It is his first journey abroad since he suffered a stroke in 2008, and it comes as his regime faces a worsening economy and rising tensions with Seoul over the sinking of a South Korean warship. Mr Kim is expected to demand economic and diplomatic support from Beijing in return for reining in his military and returning to six-nation talks on dismantling the North's nuclear programme.
